Sigil of Lucifer (“Seal of Satan”)

The Sigil of Lucifer is a lesser known historical magical sigil used occasionally as an emblem by modern Satanists. The image originates in the sixteenth century Italian Grimoirium Verum, or “Grimoire of Truth.” Used in conjunction with other symbols, its original purpose of the sigil was to aid in a visual invocation of the angel Lucifer.

The figure is probably derived from an earlier work, most likely drawn from a magic square whose origins are now lost. The emblem is sometimes referred to as the “Seal of satan,” although this is not a historical usage.

Lucifer the light bearer, shines the light at darkest nights, to those that seek within sunshine. Answers are dancers in the cosmic waves of Cancer, fallen to Earth one forgets much to the mysteries of humanities soul evolution enhancers. The student then climbs to get back the divine, grapes from the harvest, become sweet wine opening ones mind, alas he forgot the rotting vines, summer to fall, winter, to spring the student keeps climbing as he learns heavens sing. The student slips and falls many times, as the wine runs out he remembers the vines, he goes to the orchard and plants in the fields, learning how to caress Mother nature and to what her desires appeal. Metaphors for meta-chores, the alchemist learns the Labor and scores.
