Athame

AthameIn Ritual magick and Wiccan traditions, an athame is a consecrated ceremonial knife symbolizing the element of air or fire, depending on the symbolism of the tradition. The athame itself is a very old idea, a tool  represented in many old magical grimoires and witch-hunter’s manuals. The ‘traditional’ Wiccan athame is a double bladed knife with a black handle, although modern Wiccan athames display a wide variety shapes, colors, and decoration. More about the Tools of Magick
