Can anyone identify this triangle? Is this just some random design, or is it a symbol from somewhere?

Jennifer Rollins October 17, 2017 at 11:02 pm

Good evening I was wondering if you knew what the norse symbol is for family? I’m trying to design a tattoo for me and my husband whose family is part norse. Thank you and have a great evening.

Is a Z with a vertical line through it found anywhere?

Peter McLean April 4, 2015 at 3:51 am

I have found a ring with a symbol on it that is unknown. It may even be two symbols combined.

I was wondering if I sent a picture to anybody maybe the could help me identify the symbol or symbols please?

Jennifer April 6, 2015 at 9:03 am

Hi Peter- not a problem, just go ahead and post it or send us an email :)

Zac September 19, 2014 at 11:33 am

I have acquired a pendant of sorts that i cannot identify and could not find on here, at least through a basic search. its is a brass coin completely smooth and polished on one side and on the other it has a raised circular piece with two larger “wisps” coming up from it in opposite directions it has two smaller ones closer together in the center and spreading out on op and finally another circular piece, reminiscent of a ball maybe? can anyone help me identify this pendant?

Jennifer September 24, 2014 at 8:03 pm

Hi Zac, I’m having a hard time visualizing this, do you have a picture, any chance?

Jack February 9, 2014 at 9:57 am

I have recently found a ring. The larger shape is a rectangle. Within the rectangle is a diamond shape. Within the diamond shape is what I can best describe is a backwards question mark. In the four corners of the rectangle some type of script marks appear. Eight small circles are on the outside edge of the rectangle (corners, and centers between corners. To the right and left of the rectangle identical snake like script appears. Any ideas?

Jennifer February 9, 2014 at 8:42 pm

Almost sounds like some sort of signet ring. Is it possible to have a picture?

jack February 11, 2014 at 8:43 am

I am trying to attach a drawing but cant figure out how to do it. Can I email?

jack February 11, 2014 at 8:54 am

I am going to post the picture on the Facebook page.

Jennifer February 12, 2014 at 8:14 pm

Sure you can email symboldictionary AT gmail DOT com, or maybe try uploading to imgur.com?

Jennifer February 13, 2014 at 5:13 pm

Hi Jack- it looks like some form of apotropaic magic square. I’ve seen similar ones before. Let me do some further research and see if I can locate it.

Jack February 17, 2014 at 6:37 pm

Hi Jennifer, Thanks for the reply. I look forward to what your research reveals.

Sid February 17, 2014 at 2:19 am

Hi …..
I would like to see a picture of this ring. I think I have seen it before. But I don’t recall any script or circles. Can I see it please ?

jack February 19, 2014 at 8:46 am

Hi Sid, I put a picture of the ring on the Facebook page. If you cant find it let me know, I can email or try Jennifer’s suggestion listed above. Thanks for the help. The ring also has an inscription on the inside that I will eventually try to render and post. Not sure what language it is.

jack February 19, 2014 at 8:51 am

The picture on Facebook was posted on February 11th under Jack.

Sid February 20, 2014 at 12:04 am

Sorry …. When you said inverted question mark, I thought up side down. And if it is up side down, and you draw two diagonals in the square, It is “Kundali Tantrik Chakra” from Hindu Culture. But never seen this one.

You should really look to putting all this in book form I would totally buy it best quick reference straight to the point without a whole bunch of filler to read through.

Ray J May 15, 2012 at 9:17 am

We have a question about this symbol… anybody have any feedback on what it is, or what it means?

Tattoo Design Finder February 7, 2012 at 4:24 am

Came here looking for the meaning of the star tattoo, what a great hub of information, i could spend hours on here. Thanks for the effort in putting this all in one place. have some new ideas now.

Myztik January 26, 2012 at 7:34 pm

Is this incomplete? Just asking cause there are a lot of symbols in the egyptian section that “cannot be found on the server.”

Jennifer March 21, 2012 at 6:57 am

There have been some issues stemming from the site’s migration. Keep checking back.

Sarah December 28, 2011 at 4:30 am

I have been wondering about a mark on my hand for some time now… I finally went to a palm reader, just to have an opinion. She informed me that I possessed the psychic eye, and proceded to ask me if i was spiritual, or if i had ever had contact with a spirit of some kind…I could get into a huge story, but we’ll just leave it as I have…. never the less… I would like to know more about having a psychic eye in the center of my right palm…. does anyone know anything more?

Anonymous March 7, 2018 at 1:12 pm

That’s weird

Natalie April 25, 2011 at 8:36 am

Just wondering if you know what this symbol means: three lines starting as a point at the bottom, swirling up together and then meeting at the top to make another point. Meaning would be much appreciated, thanks!
